Company wide health, safety and environmental training covers, for example, risk assessment, the use of abrasive wheels, manual handling and CSCS Skills card training. Many of our managers and all of our student engineers take the IOSH Managing Safely course, which is run in-house under license from IOSH.
We also utilise external specialists, e.g. for gas safety, mobile towers erection and Mobile Elevating Work Platforms.

Sub-contractors are pre-qualified to determine their competency. An extensive database exists, which is regularly updated. Hurdles and minimum scores are used to ensure only those companies with a clear understanding of our Health & Safety expectations are used. Self-employed labour and other temporary workers supplied by employment agencies are formally vetted and inducted to determine their competency prior to commencing work under company supervision. The use of a limited number of agencies helps to ensure consistent standards are maintained.
